Nuwara Eliya is an unharmed piece of land well reserved, high up in the hills. “Little England” they named it for the spectacular scenic beauty and its soothing climate throughout the year. Tea estates spread over acres and acres of land like long staircases, down the hills. The climate can vary, during the season there are loads of plants and flowers but it’s not that cold with a little bit of sunlight. During the off-season, it’s way too cold and people hardly get out of their houses because it rains frequently. Nuwara Eliya has always been the choice of Europeans since history. They thought that Nuwara Eliya was an escape to their motherland for the hard-working and hard-drinking English and Scottish men who worked at the tea estates.
