Adam’s Peak is a focused pilgrimage site for over 1000 years.
Various histories built about Adam’s peak include “the place where Adam set foot after being cast out of heaven”, the Sacred footprint of Lord Buddha, the Footprint of St. Thomas, or the footprint of Lord Shiva. During the Adam’s Peak season the route at night is glowing with a ribbon of lights as if an aisle leading to the heavens. It’s a breathtaking sight to see. At the summit, there is a temple with a sacred footprint were all pilgrims go to worship. They climb up this never-ending pathway for the miraculous blessings and hope to see the astonishing process of the sunrise while they are on top.
The best time to visit Adam’s Peak is usually around December to May
