Anuradhapura is a vibrant ancient kingdom with a rich collection of thousand-year olds to visit. It is a very cultural city that wholly practices Buddhism. Since ancient times the city had been of a very dry climate hence the Kings that reign the Kingdom had built enormous tanks as a solution for no rain to overcome their thirsts and other water-related problems. Anuradhapura was one of the cities that practiced very complex irrigation methods, which was found as a result to overcome water problems when farming. The city is Sacred too. The significance goes to the sapling gifted from India of the “Sri Maha Bodhi”, under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment.
